Due to an increased demand for basic training in taxidermy
techniques, tuition can now be provided for a single day or up to a week.
Tuition can be arranged throughout the year at a mutually convenient time.
A single day’s tuition would involve you working on one bird, taking you through
the whole process from skinning to mounting it.
Four or five day’s tuition would involve you working on two birds and also on
a small mammal, again taking you through the whole process from skinning to
mounting them.
All materials and tools will be provided and you will be able to take away the
completed mounts.
Teas, coffees and a sandwich lunch will also be provided. |
You will be working in an outside building so best to wear suitable clothing.
It is also recommended that you have an up to date tetanus injection as you will
be handling dead animals that can carry different bacteria. You will also be
working with various surgical tools so need to be aware that there may be the
risk of cuts and abrasions. Due to the nature of all this it is not possible for
me to get insurance to cover you.
Any illnesses or allergies, e.g. diabetes, epilepsy should also be disclosed due
to the kind of work and tools involved.
If you wish to discuss any of the above further or have any questions please
